Does anyone know if hormone types of birth control, such as the pill , or depo provera injections have been linked to any type of hair loss or thinning.
Hi, E.!I can't cite you a scientific study or anything, but I can say that I have known women who have experienced "hair shedding," some worse than others. This would be from the pill. The dp shots are quite potent from what I've heard so I would think hair shedding is more possible than not. In the end, it all depends on how your system reacts, especially the dosage.Jade21Does anyone know if hormone types of birth control,> such as the pill , or depo provera injections have> been linked to any type of hair loss or thinning.
Depo provera is a progestin, not progesterone. It has been known to have adrogenic side effects in some people (baldness, chin hairs, etc.). It can also cause suicidal depression. Natural progesterone is the same chemical structure as that made by your own body.
Contact somebody like Women's International Pharmacy - they will sort you out.
