Okay, let me try to explain this as best I can. My hair is just past my waist. I am black, but I am mixed with both American Indian and Caucasian so my hair texture is really weird. It is very thin and wavy.

Lately, I have noticed that one side of my hair seems to be thinning. Now, I know baldness runs on my father`s side of the family so could this just be hereditary or could the length of my hair be the problem? I just want to be sure that keeping my hair long is not causing my hair to come out easily because it is so thin.

Just to give you some idea, when i comb my hair or wash it, I don`t have just broken hair coming out. I have entire strands of hair coming out.

Any ideas or suggestions? And by the way, I am only 22!

I don`t think it is because your hair is so long. I have been losing entire strands of hair for two months now. It is a bit strange isnt it? Do you by any chance take vitimin A or maybe too much? Easy thing to do. That is what happened to me. I stopped taking it and hair is still falling but not as bad. Is your hair really thinning? As in it is not growing back? I see new hair growing back very fast for me is why I ask.

Nowdays I have been having this problem also. My hair is thin and waist length. It`s falling at the root with a white bulb at the end. I wish I knew what could be causing this!!!!

This is making me so stressed. I`m worried that I`ll lose all my hair. :(

I had the same problem. What you should do is go
to the store and get some Suave balsam & protein shampoo,
and also get the tropical coconut conditioner(which
is the most important part). The suave Tropical Coconut conditioner is a great value, I can`t believe it`s only 1.00$, for that price that is amazing! I`m sure this will really help you out.
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our life.

Rogaine! It will prevent hair loss and help you keep the hair you have and help it actually become thicker! I use it just at night, I don`t think you need to use it twice a day, they just say that to make more money, but it works.

Well, i don`t know if this will help. But i also have long hair and suffer from hair loss. I`ve done some research on my own before and after i went to visit my doctor. My hair is thinning at the crown of my head, and a bit on the sides of head as well. My doctor said i`m suffering from a condition called AGA, which is a form of hair loss. But no one in my family has a history of hair loss. Until i get a second opinion i`m using a new product which is not label as a drug. Called Osmotics, FNS, for short. SO far i`m seeing results. Its recommend to use regularly up to a year. (www.osmotics.com)
I`ve also heard of products like Kevis, and Viviscal. I don`t know if they work. If anyone`s ever tried them please let me know. I hope i help a little.

If your really worried you can try what i`ve been trying. Its not a drug, and its not like the over the counter products that have side effects. This is one is more like a conditioner. Its called Osmotics, FNS.
I`ve had good results. But i`ve only use it for a fews months, usually it takes a little longer. Maybe six months to a year. I`ve also heard of products like KEVIS, and VIVISCAL. But i haven`t tried them yet.

Where can I get these products at? Osmotics,FNS, Kevis, viviscal? I never heard of them. How did it make you hair better?

Did you get them from a doctor? Do you know the cause of your hairloss?
:)

You can get Osmotics, FNS, either through their website (www. osmotics.com) or at a Sak`s Fifth avenue store nearest you. You can get Viviscal through the website. In fact just search under the product name.
Kevis, also has their own website. www.kevis.com or try searching if you can`t find it.
There could be many reasons for your hair loss, stress, not eating right or taking the right vitamins. Or you could have a history in your family of hair loss, if not you could have a problem with your hormons or thyroid gland. You might have to get a check up to determine the problem. Your doctor will check your blood for any signs and then take it from there. I have a problem call AGA, which is male pattern baldness. You can research more on the web, considering several different kinds of hair loss problems. I hope this helps.

Everyones hair has a lifespan, it alters from person to person, although a long life span is 15 years, when the life span is up the hair will break off at the bulb as a new hair pushes through. Also the weight of long hair puts a bit more pressure on the follicle and is more prone to break off. I have a had a friend that had hair to her waist and it was falling out, she went to a specialist who told her to get it cut to shoulder length to give her head a rest and get some more health into her hair and start again, or risk losing more hair.

Cheers

Kerryn
