I just joined this board yesterday--have not gotten any replies yet. Anyway, I'd like to take this opportunity to say HELLO first. This being a long hair support board and all, I thought I might receive some tips from you guys on long hair care. But no replies or anything! I think others have posted since I posted earlier yesterday (really early). Is this one of those boards where everyone is in a clique and newer people get ignored? Or am I experiencing a misunderstanding?

Sometimes it takes a few days to get a response to messages – don’t take it personally. I’ll have a go at answering your questions on the original message.
Take care and post often

There may be a couple cliques here, but it doesn't mean those people will only reply to each other. I haven't noticed any discrimination here, even though I don't know anyone very well either. Everyone is still friendly. Chances are, no one was around or nobody knew how to respond to your post. Welcome to the board.
Welcome to the board, Beer! New voices are always welcome!
I've been here since early summer, and as Uzma and Jenna said, there are all sorts of reasons for what goes on here. In my case, sometimes it's a couple of days for whatever reason before I can get back to the board, or someone's already stated something so well I don't feel there's any more I can add to advance the discussion, or the boards are kind of slow, all of which are reasons you should stay! I can't say I feel it is cliquish on this board, just pretty outspoken and a bit off-topic at times! I really like it here; it is the one place where I don't feel that my hair obsession is trite and meaningless! I mean, who in my real life is willing to discuss every nuance of growing long hair and not be bored to tears?

Hello Beer! Don´t be discouraged. Personally, I get on the board about once a week normally, and sometimes every two weeks. Maybe that´s the way it is for others as well. And some are chatty while others will post when they have something to say. I have been around since august, I think, and I think the atmosphere is mostly supportive and the tone is nice. I hope you will enjoy it here.
