I was wondering if its ok to let your hair grow and grow with little trims here or there even if ther is alot of damage at the ends. I was planning on growing my hair to tailbone/classic(somewhere imbetwwen there) and then cutting off like 2 inches toget the damaged parts of so I don't get disceraged.

Well, try to. When the damage starts looking too bad, then trim. You may lose some length, but I think it might be worth a shot.

Hi Hip one,

Trim the ends as infrequently as you like. I would advise keeping an eye out for split ends, and trim split ends off, one strand at a time.

Hope this helps, and I wish you well in your growth quest!

That's what I do. I don't find many splits, but I do have lots of hairs that are wavy at the very ends. I'm guessing it's from being too rough with it. But I'm trying to take better care now; I bought a satin pillowcase and am using my fingers and a bone comb instead of brushes.
