QuoteReplyTopic: ANOTHER MSM PROBLEM!! Posted: December 08 2003 at 12:33pm
Hello everyone, just wondering if anyone has ever experienced pimples from taking MSM?? I have been on MSM for at least a month now and I keep breaking out in pimples like 5 at a time !!! First of all when I started taking this I was getting severe migraines and nausea NOW this !! I am about ready to give up on this MSM crap! I haven't noticed a bit of difference with my hair, it has not grown any quicker or thicker or healthier so I am not sure what to do! PLEASE HELP!!!!
Hi Ginger; I read Karen's Article, very interesting.
I've been taking MSM (about 1500 mg a day) Although not for the hair and skin reasons that Karen was talking about. I'm taking it in with Glucosamine Sulfate for my joints.
I used to take a Glucosamine supplement before reading about MSM, and I have to say that I have noticed a REAL difference after I changed to the MSM Glucosamine.
I haven't noticed any negative side effects. And the positive is truly amazing. If I go two or three days w/o taking it I truly ache...(My hand arm and shoulder mainly...it's the nature of my trade I'm afraid).
As far as the hair and skin...?...I just read Karen's article recently so I will truly be more aware. Anyway, I wish it was working out for you ...when you get old like me you may need it...just kidding.
Have you changed anything else?? skin care regimes or anything?? As far as the headaches, I hope you get it figured out. Hopefully others will post their experiences with it. Cheers.
Sorry to hear that the MSM is not agreeing with your skin and head. I would suggest you quit taking the MSM for now, at least (if not for good). I take a vit/min supplement which contains a modest amount of MSM and I don't know that it causes me any such reactions. Maybe has something to do with the fact that these pills contain so many other nutrients, so the effect of the MSM is buffered? Anyway, for now, take a break from the MSM, and see if other supplements might work better (such as silica, a.k.a. "horsetail herb").
Sophie, is your signature photo of you, or someone else? A very pretty face.
Hi Dave...nope not me, I love her haircolor is why I used it. But it's getting time for a new pic. I don't know if I'm comfortable putting a pic of myself up. Does that sound weird? We'll see.
I hope you didn't feel like I put you on the spot about confessing whether or not the photo was of you. I was just curious. The woman pictured is striking.
I completely understand about feeling uneasy with posting your photo on the internet. Post your photo only if you feel comfortable doing so.
