Hey all. Just a little observation here; I have discovered that, in trying to learn the names and faces of 35+ students, variety of hair styles and colours has been a huge help. I learned to recognize the female students much more quickly than the male, in part I think because they have a variety of lengths and styles, whereas the boys usually wear baseball caps that cover their hair. You don't really think about it, but hairstyle does make a person recognizable; just think how confusing and boring it would be if we all had to have the same hair!Have a good weekend, everyone!Kim

So am I, I have 123 students to learn and hair helps to some degree though so many are wearing the same style. Just curious - they can wear hats! Big no, no where I am.

Thanks Kim. I have been trying to tell my freinds and family this for months. You see I am a guy and I like bob styles and I want my hair to be in a bob. I had a just below the ears bob w/bangs a few months back and it was great looking. Problem is that friends and family thought that it was too long and too girlish. Well my stylist said that it fit my features, I loved it, and I know that being a little different helps you stand out but they wouldn't listen. So many guys have the nearly exact some crewcut styles today that they all look alike. I like to be different and I think that it makes you stick in peoples minds. I am working on a version of a bob know that maybe will be a compromise though I long for a shoulder length bob someday when these people wake up and smell the coffee and realize that hairstyles should not be gender related. Being a little different can have advantages.> Hey all. I am a teaching assistant with 36 college students. There isn't a dress code that I know of, so I don't try to make people get rid of their hats. Every school I've gone to that wouldn't allow boys to wear baseball caps let the girls wear any hat they wanted, which seems sexist to me. So I let the baseball caps stay.Kim
