QuoteReplyTopic: Need support/advice Posted: May 17 2001 at 10:20am
I am in he process of growing out a pixie cut. My hair isprobably at the two inch mark and I can just start to tuck it somewhat behind my ears. I have medium weight hair that tends to get heavy as it get longer and will not stay off my face without the use of much hairspray. I want to grow it to at least shoulder length but have been discouraged in the past because 1) growing out very short hair can be frustrating and 2) when my hair gets long it tends to be a bit overwhelming since i have a somewhat small face. In the past I have gotten a perm to help keep it out of my face and to ease the transition of growing it out. Any other suggestions/advice?
Thanks Susannah

I am growing out my hair for 1 and 1/2 years (from 1/2 inch below the ears) and now it is down to my shoulder blades. After 1 year growing it looked already long. I think 1 year patience is at least necessary to go away from a short hair style, if you really want it.
To perm a hair is a thing I can not appreciate. I heard too often that it will damage the hair, this maybe not important if the hair is not very long because you can regrow it but if you want a long hair for a while I would be carefully with this.
I think an alternative to bangs is to put the hair falling into the face behind the head and fix it there. After my opinion this looks more exciting as bangs. There exist also a lot of people who think it is very sexy if the hair falls into the face.
I can`t offer much advice, other than not to let too frustrated and chop your hair off, then realise you didn`t really want that. What i can do is offer you as much support as you wish. Feel free to contact me and I`ll give you my email address if you are inteersted.
