Hi
I`m trying to grow my hair long and haven`t had a haircut for just over six months. It`s not long enough to put into a ponytail properly, and previously I`d had my hair styled with a part down the middle.
One of the reasons for growing my hair is to be able to slick my hair back instead of having a part, but no matter what I do, it keeps reverting back to the way it was with the part. I`ve used gels and hair wax, but ultimately the hair just goes back to how it was before.
I was wondering if there was something else I could try. If there`s a special hair product or procedure to assist in styling my hair, so that I can get rid of the part.
If not, when my hair grows to the length where it can be tied in a ponytail, will it eventually "learn" to stay slicked back, or will it keep reverting to the part.
I actually have had the same problem. my hair is probably not quite as long as yours, a bit past my ears, but i had been wanting to do the same as you, but after a few hours it just falls to the side. which is actually why i started letting it do that. actually looking to layer it soon. but for what yer doin, yer gonna need a really thick wax. and i can greatly recommend you american crew`s grooming creme. i have hair that is really thick and this can even hold mine. so should do good on yers. try and see how it is.
