I`ve toyed with the idea of getting a TIGHT(1/4" rollers) perm since I was 16, but I never had the guts for fear of ridicule. I`m 34 now, married, and less bothered by any potential teasing. Has anyone had a tight (poodle) perm? How did you like it? As I said, I`m less worried about what others thought and more about what you thought, though I would like to know if caused any difficulty at work. Thanks, Bob
I worked for the railroad on 24hr call for almost 11 years. This made for a heck of a hassle to get up on an hour and one-half notice, shower, get your act together, eat and get to work. Yes, I wore a perm. And yes, I caught some light ribbing for the first little bit..... But in the long run, everyone got used to it and it was not an issue.
The choice is really yours... Do you want the convenience of wash, pick and go? A perm will do that. What is not discussed it that when it starts growing out on you, it will tend to lay flat on your head and look kind of bad until you get it re-done. How often this happens depends on how fast your hair grows....
My vote, if you want it, get it! I currently have waist length hair that I keep tied in a ponytail at work. Always wanted it.... takes a LOT longer to get.
