If you are having doubts, ask the stylist to do a "water perm" or just say that you would like to see what a perm would look like without actually getting the full perm...tell him you want to try it out. Basically, he/she will roll your hair onto small perm rods....like blue or yellow....using setting gel...and put you under the dryer to form the curl....the curl will not be "permanent" because no solution is being used. Perm solution is what breaks down the hair bonds....after the solution processes and is rinsed out...the neutralizer reshapes the hair according to the rods that were used. The neutralizer is sort of the messenger telling the hairs that they will no longer be straight but instead be curly..hope that is not too technical...email me with further questions.
do what you feel is best for you. Don't be worried about what people say. If you do that your whole life you will never get anywhere because of listening to them while they are out going on about their business.
i know this is an old post but i thought to bring it up
