Need new style

Well, my hair isn`t coarse, but it isn`t fine. Its sort of just in the middle. I used to have brown hair, but then I dyed it all blond, trying to achieve the Alex Band look, and then after many haircuts its only blonde around the top area. It`s not long, but it`s not short enough to spike without falling over.
Right now, I`m using some hair wax to make two strands come over my face. I desperately need a new style though. And haircuts are not a possibility, because I`m involved in a drama program at my school, and we are forbidden to get haircuts. New dye probably isn`t out of the question though. So, suggestions?
