I'am sure alot of you long haired people have stories to tell and I as well as other members would be interested in reading them. My most unusual long hair story was when I got my hair (almost waist length) caught in a "Epilady" Hair Remover...did that ever HURT! Another story comes to mind but it pertains to a friend of mine. My friend who has ALWAYS had long hair all her life was "Mall Ratting" when a mentally ill shopper couldn't resist touching her hair. Of course she was upset and asked him to please not touch her. He got angry and wrapped her (below her butt) tresses around his wrist and forearm and literally picked her up off the floor and started shaking her. Security had to be called...he was arrested and my friend exerienced years of anxieties and stopped going to the Malls. Even though this was tragic...she NEVER cut her hair! I always respected her for that. Any similiar stores? humerous stories? etc...

Hi LongBraidz,

Wow, those are unusual stories!

That was one creepy dude at the mall. Glad to hear your friend didn't allow the unpleasant experience to compromise her appreciation for long hair.

I'm not familiar with the action of an Epilady. If I were, it would help me understand what happened to you. How does the device work?

About 10 years ago, when my hair was only shoulder length (and I hadn't had recent experience with long hair), I got several dozen strands caught in the pulley of a workout machine in a gym. Yeouch! I immediately thought about it and realized I had allowed the cable to be too close to my hair. I've never had that happen, since.

Hi DaveDecker...my friend Shelia found her way back from her anxieties and went on to college and got a degree. Her hair is still long...it's her signature and probably always will be

An epilady...umm...it is an electrical device for women...rather small and you can hold it easily in your hand. It's purpose it to remove body hair (armpits, legs, bikini area - NO WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY) for long lasting months. It states that it gently pulls the hairs out along with the follicles. Actually...it RIPS them out and your skin feels bruised and painful afterwards. I thought I would give it a try on my legs one summer afternoon while sitting on my porch. I pinned my hair up in a bun but a few wisps escape. A breeze just happened to blow as I was bent down invistigating my already red and painful shins. At that moment the epilady grabbed some of the wisps...the especially tender one's on the upper sides of your face and tore them out. That was one giant "OUCHY"!!!! That epilady found itself the following week in my yearly yard sale Your "pulley" experience gave me goosebumps! I can imagine the pain you felt.
