I heard this on the radio the other day:
A firm was on a work related conference, very popular in Sweden is to take a cruise to Finland for this (due to the opportunity for taxfree shopping of alcoholic beverages), and that´s what they were doing. A woman sees a pair of scissors, gets the evil thought in her brain to take them and cut the ponytail off of her very longhaired collegue! (They didn´t say, but I suspect there was alcohol involved.) He called for security and the woman was confined for the rest of the journey.
Now the guy has sued her for ca 20.000 USD, to pay for extensions and suffering. He says that long hair is an important part of his self esteem.
Well, there are a lot of ways to hurt people. And why did I get the feeling that the reporters thought that he was a bit ridiculous? Like, a grown man shouldn´t fuss so much over his hair? I personally think he should have sued for more money!
The more you complain, the longer God lets you live.

I think 20 kilos is enough considering the fact that long hair isn't a body limb like an arm or a leg, but it does show that it is something important, and society's double standard concerning people's right to obsess about them if they don't have a penis.
People make me sick. Luckily, there are people such as Viktoria here who isn't brain dead due to society's peer pressure BS.
P.S. I never will have people make the choice for me given the dilemma I posed myself : Hair or penis. Besides, I can live with one being short, yes, the latter.
I hate all of the following and lots more : Fundamentalists, racists, sexists, fascists, ageists (people saying seniors = senile , kids = stupid , 18 = immature or a combo of them), and bigots for causes yet to receive their own designation.

Oh my, Viktoria, what a horrible story. Many people tend to be dismissive of the effects of this sort of assault & battery, perhaps because there is no visible physical flesh wound requiring surgical attention, but the perpetrator's behavior is, unquestionably, criminal behavior.
Lawsuits have been filed in the United States against stylists who have arrogantly disregarded requests for a small trim, resulting in major loss of hair length for their clients. Judges and juries have ruled in favor of the plaintiff. So, notice has been served to the profession at large.
