Hi, im a guy and ive finallly decided to grow long hair.
My last haircut was about seven months ago and its currently four inches in length. How long will it take to have shoulder length hair.
Average growth rate is about 1/2" a month...
Totally uncut it would take less than a year, but then it wil be uneven. In a one-length blunt cut that has been trimmed & shaped along the way, it should be to your shoulders in about a year and a half or so. Fully at your shoulders, that is, not just brushing. Just brushing should be around a year.
My hair is almost to my knees (~50") and continues to grow longer. Rather slowly these days, but that's ok - it's still *growing*.

When I grew out a short haircut, it took my hair about 1 to 1.5 years to grow to around shoulder length. My hair grows at the average rate - 1/2" per month. As time passed I had microtrims of the longest layers to shape it up a bit, but I was also growing the length longer than shoulder length... anyway, at 7 months, you have a good start on your goal.
