Yo this one girl at school was talkin to me about my hair and stuff. She was like, "do u get a 1 or 2 or 3" and im like wut u talkin about. I have no idea wut thoses #'s mean. Like 1 is real low and 2 is low but not really. I told her this, "i usually tell tha barber to cut it low and mostly all the time i just hop into the sit and he gets to workin and knows how to make it look good. Explain this 1, 2, 3, 4 stuff to me even though i will never use anytime soon.
1,2,3,4 all of those are size blades i normally get a 2 which is just right for waves one is like skin close and 2 is for about 1/3 inch hair cut and 3 and 4 is for like afros so that explains it for ya

i plan on getting sum clipper maybe next month and start doing my hair. ( dont think this # system will matter if ur doing it yoself) U kno u go up and b like, "ok give me a fade all over" I never ever (or my dad) have said #2 like im at mc donalds lol.
yea but if u want to cut ur own hair the numbers are beneficial just to let u know the numbers are on the blades that u chage for different hair lengths just look at them and look for a 2 then start cutting i dont see what so hard i cut my own just start on top on one side and like overlap each time u go down the head to make sure u dont miss a spot and same for side and back the back is easy for me cause i know the back of my head i just start at one end and over lap each stroke and boom i got my hair cut easy
oh yea run the clippers over ur head like ur brushing ur head to cut of split ends or ends sicking up then u strait
yo i got some clippers now. Which one do i use to get it not to low, but low. 1/2 or something? Is it the same as brushing.. like sides going down and top going forward.. grain like?
The numbers are just the guards that they use on the professional clippers. If they don't use a guard it would be #0 and you'd be shaved bald! #1 is more scalp than hair showing (like a marine gets on the sides). #2 is a bit more hair but you can still see scalp. #3 looks like a very short brush cut. #4 is what you'd get for a 'regular' brush cut (no scalp showing). If you're cutting your own hair I'd start with the longest guard and see what you get. Then try smaller ones until you get the length you want. As you are clipping always keep the guard flat against your head (you'll have to swivel the clipper around as you go around your head). It is helpful to watch a barber use the clippers so you see how it is done. I used to clip my own hair and with practice it is easy to give yourself a great haircut. Good luck with your hair goals.
ya man it went good. I used the smallest one (1/16 size to b exact) to start off and it worked well. I did however spend like 9min trying to figure out why it didnt cut.. why? b/c theres a lever switch that pull the blade further from your head. The 14 piece kit cost $25.99 orginally $30.00 at sallys. Link below is the clippers actually. Good thing guards were made.
