Ummm, What is the best way to dry hair?

I tend to, if I wash it at night put it in a turban with a towel and then go to bed. Is this bad?

If I wash my hair in the morning I pat dry and then generally braid it into a french braid, or put it up someway that does not need to be brushed.

do I need to have my hand stamped
to get back in?

I hate to say this but for at least 23 years I have been french braiding my hair after I wash it and keep it braided until it is dry. Even if I wash it at night, it gets braided. No matter what length it is. For me it just works better. It is out of my way for one thing and the other is during that transitional phase between dry and wet, it looks awful. Wet looks good, dry looks good... but not in between. Also it seems most fragile when it is in that in between phase. So I want strength in numbers and don't want to mess with it as it dries... which means into a braid it goes. And when I take it out it is smooth with lots of waves, not frizzy.

I never use a blow dryer either.

Hi Ossiander -- welcome to the board!

Doing as you do with your wet hair is not bad.

And I agree with wittils -- i braid my hair wet and leave it there 'til it's dry, or nearly so. I let it loose and it dries on its own quickly.

So... you're doing fine.

Tell us more about your hair?
