Hi Everyone, I just read Karen`s article about curling your hair with popsicle sticks, and was reminded of when I was 19 doing to my hair. I won`t admit how long ago that was, (1985) but it seems like it was yesterday.
My best friend was reading a magazine and pointed out an article about using popsicle sticks as curlers, she suggested that we try it with my hair as it was so long at that time. I had very long straight hair that was almost to my waist. We went to a craft store to buy the sticks because they were clean, and sanded (so children could use them in projects w/o getting sllinters.).
It took 2 1/2 hours to set my hair (freshly washed and wet), My arms ached for hours afterwards because it seemed like I had my hands over my head forever. We used 183 popsicle sticks! I let it dry for almost 8 hours. When we took the sticks out, I very gently seperated the curls, I couldn`t believe that I had such masses of beautiful curls. I lost about 4 inches in length, but there just seemed to be SO MUCH hair. I really loved it. I took some pictures, but I can`t find them anywhere right now, but if I ever do I`ll post them here.
