i really want to grow my hair out long. but every time i try to do it, i get tempted to cut it and then i do. and i regret it everytime. is there anyway to make it grow faster and keep myself from wanting to cut it?
Hair grows at an average rate of 1/2 inch per month--a wee bit faster during the summer. There is no real way to make your hair grow faster... But the next best thing is to keep it healthy so you don't have to cut off damage. Condition your hair really well, eat right--especially eggs and nuts and other protein, take multivitamins, drink enough water, and keep up on exercise to increase circulation. Scalp massage helps too.
To prevent cutting, make a conscious decision to grow and tell your close friends. Have someone you can call when you get "cutting urges" and then they can talk you out of it. We have more Grow Support on the Long Hair board and you're welcome to come join us.
Also use conditoner every time you wash. Hair is going to take a long time to grow. My best advice is too not be too concerned with how fast your hair is growing, it will eventually get long.
Since your hair is growing long, carry a comb with you at all times. Not those dinky little black combs. But a full size wide tooth detangling comb. If you do not know what Im talking about, ask your mother or GF. Try not to brush your hair too much, that damages hair, a lot. Never Brush your hair when wet. If you need to comb your hair out when it is wet, be very gentle.
When you get your hair trimmed, you may hear advice to get it trimmed every 6 weeks. DOn't listen. Those salons are just trying to get your money. You will be trimming off all your growth. You may hear advice like a split end will cause it to travel all the way up the shaft, I don't know if it is true, but from I heard from other men, it is not. Some men just completly ignore split ends.
is it ok to dry your hair by going out with wet hair and let it dry on its own? or use a blow dryer? is it wrong to comb your hair after taking a bath? thanks for reading this
I always airdry my hair. I never blowdry it. In the long run blowdrying your hair is not worth it. It caused damage and split ends. When you comb your hair do it very gently taking out all tangles with your fingers, not your comb. When you go to comb and you feel a tangle or a not take your finger and try and get it loose. Never ever force your way through tangles with a comb or brush. Also never Brush your hair when wet. Hair is most fragile when wet.
