QuoteReplyTopic: Flip up long hair !!!HELP Posted: June 09 2004 at 5:21pm
hey everybody , i'm a guy , 17 years old , i have black straight (kinda wavy) dry thick hair
i'm trying to make my hair grow long for months now , everytime it gets long a bit , my hair kinda flips up and curves at the end of my hair and it's realy getting annoying cuz i cut the curved part everytime and that didn't help me to make my hair grow long ! .
so guys any ideas how to stop my hair's end from being curved ?!
off topic Q : how can i make my hair shinier (any shampoos or anything could help) ?
is ur hair kinda short........like shoulders or above? coz when it gets longer the weight of it should pull it down so it doesn't flip up. i remember when i cut my hair to my shoulders years ago i was horrified that the ends flipped up, like a hideous 60's hairstyle, and i couldn't seem to curl them them back under, even with heaps of product......but now my hair is quite a way down past my shoulders i never have that prob....maybe u'll just have to stick it out til it gets longer if that's the problem.
You can try some Alberto Straight Hair Balm or other hair gel. Curling is a normal part of the growing out process for those of us with straight hair. Unfortunately there is very little you can do to stop the curling. Cutting it off is not a solution if you want long hair. In fact the more often you cut the longer you will have to live with 'awkward stage' hair. It *will* straighten out as your hair gets longer but it takes time and will power on your part. Look at the progress pictures on my website to get an idea. Especially the '2003 progress picture archive' - you will see flips and curls and discussion about hair products to control them. Good luck with your hair growth goals.
