To name just a few (those I can remember): Redken All Soft, Back to Basics Raspberry Almond, Nature`s Therapy Mega Moisture, Salon Selectives, Phyto Systeme Hydra-Botanics and the Loreal Vive series. I`m glad you`re steering away from HE. Although it`s rather popular, the sodium lauryl sulfate is just too harsh--and it`s in every single one of their shampoos. Good luck! :-)

Hi Violeta...in that case I would try some of the Loreal Vive products. They`re very mild and come in a variety of formulations according to hair types. Plus they`re CHEAP!

I will try L’Oreal Vive . What about Pantene , the clarifying shampoo ? I don’t know if this brand has sodium lauryl sulfate .

Pantene shampoos don`t usually contain sodium lauryl sulfate from what I remember, but they do have ammonium laureth/lauryl sulfates, which can be irritating as well for some people. See if you like the Loreal Vive....I`ve really been pleased since it`s pretty good stuff for something so cheap :-)

I was looking for the VIVE shampoo for normal-oily hair all week , it is so frustrating .Finally , after 10-15 drug-marts and Wal-Mart etc. I just got the Pantene clarifying shampoo , I hope it will work . I’m steel looking for the L’Oreal Vive one …

While most salon products are fairly good like the ones I mentioned in the above post, you can’t say that the more expensive products are ALWAYS better. Why? Look at the ingredient list. Most salon shampoos and conditioners have good ingredients, but the same is true for *some* drugstore-type items. The John Frieda Frizz Ease serum everyone (including me) raves about is available in grocery stores across this country, and while it’s a cheaper brand, it stands up to the salon-only ones. While I am a big Redken All Soft fan, Redken’s Extreme Shampoo for dry hair is a poor choice. It contains not one, but TWO harsh detergents unsuitable for dry hair: TEA-lauryl sulfate and sodium lauryl sulfate. Matrix Biolage shampoo also contains the latter ingredient.
So while salon products definitely tend to be better for dry/damaged hair, you can’t say they are *always* head-and-shoulders above their cheaper counterparts. The Loreal Vive series is extremely gentle—even more so than the two salon alternatives I mentioned previously.

I think you can safely say that about cars but you`d be surprised, the best moisturizer I have ever found is $4 and by St. Ives. It has gotten rave reviews on epinions.com and I wouldn`t trade it for all the Lancome in the world! :-) And the Loreal shampoo is definitely not crap.

The Biolage clarifying shampoo that I use has sodium lauryl sulfate, but I need that for clean hair, I have teenage oily hair and this works really well on my hair. The times I have used SlyS-free products, they did a poor job on cleaning my hair.
