What is the suggested shelf life for oils like coconut, jojoba, etc? Do some keep longer than others?

Hi Kab,

All oils keep better in cooler temperatures and away from light. Usually an oil will keep best in the fridge. Jojoba is supposed to have an indefinite shelf life in optimum conditions-- at least 1-2 years. Coconut has an optimum shelf life of over a year. If you do a search on Yahoo and enter "oil+shelf life", there are a few sites that talk about this in further detail.

(1) Refridgerate your oils if you don't expect to use it all quickly. Some unrefined (deep color) oils such as hemp will require refridgeration immediately after opening.
(2) Keep as little air in the bottle as possible (decant/transfer to a smaller bottle as you use up your oil).

Hope this helps!
