I have extremely long, thick hair and I have a dilemma. I am going to a halloween party and have decided to go as Marge Simpson. How do I get my hair to stay up???

LOL. That's a great idea! It's going to require some major engineering. Perhaps you could try stuffing a stocking with some quilt batting or cut a large piece of foam into a cylindrical shape. You will probably need a wire form inside -- maybe just a piece of straightened coat hanger or buy a wire form from a florist shop -- to keep the hairstyle from toppling over. Pull your hair into a ponytail (or maybe 4 or 5 -- more anchor points would increase the stability) on top of your head and secure the hair and the base of the foam and wire with ponytail holders and pins. Then you can wind your hair around the form and spray it into place. I don't know if this is feasible. But I can picture it in my mind. (I'm not a structural engineer though.)
I fear you'll have a head ache after a few hours of having this contraption on your head though.
Good luck!
P.S. My solution may be a little bit ambitious. Maybe you could just achieve this look by blow-drying your hair upside down, teasing, using lots of hair spray and a product like Joico "Ice" (I think that's what it's called) or some other super-hold product. I remember friends in high school doing large spikes with it.
P.P.S. There's a thread on the Teen Hair board about "Liberty Spikes". It contains lots of info on how to get your hair to defy gravity.
