I'am trying to post a few pics...any suggestions? Ok...I think I got the hang of this. I use these pics that I found in the net as an incentive to tell scissor-crazy Hairdressers...NOOOOOOOOOOOO

P.S. don't mind the editing

Hi LongBraidz,

Well, they're all lovely photos (amazing, actually). But I have one question: If you want hair like those depicted, why are you even talking to stylists (in salons)?

(sorry 'bout that.) Oh, I know, stylists can be helpful in growing out layers. I found one when I was growing mine out and he was a godsend. Best haircuts I ever got and the most he trimmed was about 1/8" or maybe 1/4" inch every 6-8 weeks.

For those seeking a stylist to help grow out layers (and go longer), I would advise seeking consultations only. Tell the stylist your goal (example: waist-length, blunt-cut hair) and ask them to tell you how they would help you achieve your goal. Listen carefully to their response, and then leave the salon to think about it. Go to several salons and take your time deciding on a stylist.

Hi DaveDecker,
Yes, I agree the photos are amazing! To answer your question "If you want hair like those depicted, why are you even talking to stylists (in salons)?" It is VERY difficult for me not to avoid hairdressers. I have a sister and 2 wonderful long time friends that have been hairdressers for year's and year's. They are really wonderful at their profession but they are alway's eager to get their hands on my hair to enhance their skills. I do trust my sister when it comes to a trim...she know's exactly what I want and she never takes off anymore then I request. I still have the layers that are growing out but I'am enjoying them as they grow. I will be due for a trim in march 2005. I'am going to get about 1/2 an inch taken off...just my way of fine tuneing my ends and making sure the uneven tips are gone. I'am guessing in another year or so I should be able to get a trim straight across - a one single length...finally. Lastly...an update, I'am currently sporting a 3" to almost 4" pony tail. It feel's great being able to use my old hair clips and holders once again

Hi LongBraidz,

Okay, I understand why... fortunately they (especially your sister) are supportive and respectful. Good to hear you are noticing the length as it arrives.

Wow, Longbraidz, sounds like you've had some major growth! Congrats

Monica: Isn't there any way that you could look at this as flattering? I mean, she's doing this to be more like you.
Rachel: Well, then, couldn't she have just copied my haircut?
