Very interesting. I've often felt that most advertising claims on shampoos and conditioners were hype.

Years ago I subscribed to Consumer Reports. Someone sent in an ad they had clipped. There were remarkable claims, and it said, "(something like) Not a scientific discovery, a marketing breakthrough!

Nice article! I always suspected vitamins in shampoos and conditioners were a waste of ingredients. I have to say that when I bought pantene, it was because I liked the way it made my hair feel, and not because I believed their claims. I wonder if anyone really believes the claims of any product these days?

it seems like as long as you don't say "it'll turn your hair into strands of gold" you can say anything in a hair commerical. Actually I think that Brilliant Blonde shampoo comercial says the bit about strands of gold so nevermind. You can say anything!

I once saw a bumper sticker that said:
"I slow down for brunettes, stop for
blonds, and back up for redheads!"
