Well, first of all to anyone who cared and has been reading my updates, sorry my computer has not been working and I have not been able to post for a little while. Anyway, it has been about 2 weeks since my last hair cut. My first reaction to my cut was jus that it was very short and I kind of liked it. It was exciting and a change I didn`t think I would have. Bu then, after the shock and excitement were gona and the initial excitement of change was over, people got used to my hair, and i didn`t. It just seems a little boring and very short. i guess its good that I did this but its gonna take a long time to grow my hair out again. Right now, its at about chin legnth, baybe a little higher and all even and straight across. It looks good, its just wierd. I used to have beautiful waste legnth hair, now i have good looking short hair, but it draws less attention, and it is too shortto do anything with. I also have the shortest hair in my class for a girl, when I`vealways had the longest. Basically, it looks good, if you didn`t know me when I had long hair, you would justwalk by and think I looked good, but I sort of miss my long hair. On the other hand, it was really exciting and I`m glad I had a little change (although it miht be a long change), but i think I will let my hair grow back unless something changes my mind as it has a tendancyto do. Thanks for liestening and if you have any suggestions please let me know.

Not to make you feel bad, but we did all warn you(especially me)! It takes about 3-4 years to grow it back from that length, I suggest you take the short way and get extensions.
Mess around with it right now you can still probably get it into a style you like. Try waving it.
------------- This is my signature. It's not a very good signature, but it's a signature nonetheless.

Hi Richette
Glad to hear from you again, I had wondered what happened to you. Given how you had posted in the past I was curious why you hadn`t posted again. Happy to hear you are ok. Sorry, you`re not as happy as you were, however, allow me to offer a quick recap: Feb. 13 -- (Post Title: Are there advantages to short hair) your first post, you described yourself as having long blond hair, down to your waist. You fancied a change & were inquiring about short hairstyles, thinking you might end up somewhere between shoulder-length & chin length. Feb 18 -- (Post Title: First step complete)(five days later) you announce that you "started the process" or experiment I beleieve you may have called it in this one. Your friend had cut your hair to about mid-back. It felt different to you, although it didn`t really look that different. Everyone at school says they love it, & you get excited & can`t wait to go shorter. Feb 22 -- (Post Title: All Done)(only four days later, & nine since you first posted) You post that you`ve "speeded up the process a bit" you get your second & third haircuts. The first one is at about your shoulder blades, then you get it cut to just a little above the shoulders, with layers up to the chin. You say how it is wierd to have your hair above your shoulders, but that you like it & don`t think about your long hair much. A few days later in that same post you mention that you like it but that it takes a lot of time in the morning, & that you are thinking of cutting it to your shortest layer (chin) but fear having your nape exposed. Mar 23 -- (Post Title; Should I Do This Now?)(A mere month later) You have any appointment for the following week, & want to some ideas for what to do, you once again mention the high upkeep & wonder if you should go to chin length, but once again, wonder about an exposed nape. You recieve almost unanimous support. April 14 -- (Post Title: Sorry It Took So Long, I Am Finally Done Now)(Three Weeks Later, Two months from original first post.) Ok in the present, first you apolgize for taking so long to get back. Which is totally understandable. You then tell us its been two weeks since your haircut, which fits the timeline perfectly, & that your hair is now at chin length. At first you really liked it, but not not so much. The excitement was gone, & for the first time you started to miss your long hair. Now you realized how long it will take to regrow but acknowledge that it was a really exciting change. So, now you want to start regrowing your hair, unless you change your mind. Does that about sum it up? Wow that took a lot longer then I though it would. Ok, I`m going somewhere with this. Unfortunatly, I`ll have to do it in another post. Check back later, & I`ll offer you some some thoughts. You did say to let you know if we had any suggestions, didn`t you?

Yeah, so that was a really long post, but it help relate with what I`m going to say. A similar experience just happened to a friend of mine, & I can say the same thing here that I told her. Look at the time factor involved. It`s been basically two months since you first posted the idea, until your most recent post. If you count the time from initial haircut to your most recent aircut, it`s less then that, basically about a month & a half, or six weeks. In that time you got 4 haircuts, & went from waist length to chin length. I know some people who don`t get any haircuts in that amount of time & you got 4! I know two came at the same time but that`s still 3. I think what happened was you got really excited & enjoyed the feeling of the change. However, while you received encouragement from many, you were also warned to take it slow, which as can seen you didn`t. Perhaps this was the mistake. You didn`t give yourself a chance to adjust to each haircut inbetween. Here are a few other thoughts, In your first post you suggested may go chin length, but not really any shorter then that. This is basically where your hair is now, but from your first post not really shorter then you thought it would be. I`m sure chin length seemed extremely short to you when you had hair to your waist & perhap you still do, but to many it can actually be considered long. So now, you really have the shortest hair of all the girls in your school? Really? I guess it`s possible but I find it a little hard to believe. But that`s a pretty cool desiction, to have the longest hair in school & the shortest, within such a short time frame. However, this may also help influence your sudden dislike for your hair. Also, in the previous post you post semi regularly both before & after your haircut, & usually within hours or at the longest the next day, after each of your cuts. This time you didn`t because you were having problems, with your computer. As you said your self you liked it at first, so had you been able to get on this thread may have turned out quite differently. I believe that`s all I have to say. However, I do have some suggestions & questions for you. First a few questions. You orignally were asking about an exposed nape, & a buzzed nape & were worried about how it would look/feel. Did you wind up getting it, & if so, what do you think? Was it as bad as you thought? Overall, I know you said you miss your long & you may try to regrow it, do you regret doing at all? Are you glad you did it? If you could go back & change the experence is there any thing you would have done differently? Ok, I think that`s it. If I think of others I`ll let you know. Some of them may seem trit but I`m just curious, & they could help with the next part. Now for a few suggestions, I know you said you are anxious to regrow your hair, however, I suggest waiting a little bit. Maybe till mid-later summer. I`m not say you need to go shorter, only that I don`t think you should grow long right away. Two reasons: first, related to what I said earlier, you just got it cut, take some time, to live it, experiment with different styles, & try to enjoy it, you may grow (no pun intended) to love it. Secondly, summer is coming up. Not exactly the best time to start regrowing hair. If summer ends, & you decide you really don`t like it, then by all means start regrowing, however, don`t start off with the goal on going all the way back to your waist. You liked your hair every step of the way up till the end, take the time to test different looks along the way, you find a medium length that you like best, remember, there are lots of styles out there that you`ve skipped over, because of how you cut it. Don`t be afraid to experiment. Wow, this is getting long again. I guess I`m about done anyway. Sorry for the two really long posts in a row but I had to say on this one. I`d love to help you out some more, & hear what you have to say to say, so let me know. I`d like to know your reaction to all this before I continue. So, hope to hear from you again soon.
