It doesn`t need to be short cause it`s not hot where I live !
It`s currently a couple of inches past shoulders and layered, no bangs.
Can you suggest any cuts that are not too short (eg. chin length, pixie.)
What about bangs ? Not really thick though.
Any help much appreciated !

Bangs are out... hardly anyone has them anymore for the exception of little kids. If I were you I wouldn`t cut it.
Maybe fringe it around your face or something.
Remember.. any cut means... hair that takes a long time to grow back! lol .. make sure its something you know your really going to like.
