I have long wavy/curly uncontrollable hair. I really want it to be straight. I`ve tried those little straighteners, but my hair`s just too thick! I barely have any time in the morning to do my hair and i already wake up at 5:30am. Is using a regular clothes iron safe on your hair? Is it worth it? My friend uses an iron and it looks really good. If an iron isn`t safe, are there any cheap products that work for long naturally curly/wavy hair? Thanks! -Ashley

Ironing hair is a beatnik thing...or a 50`s thing at any rate. :o)
Will it damage your hair? Without a doubt, yes, the heat will. Whether it is worth it probably depends on how long your hair is and how long you intend to keep those individual follicles. A better option could be to accept your wavy /curly hair...sounds really cool to me!

No That`s not a good idea. Want to know why? Every girl I`veknown to use a clothes iron on your hair has VISABLE splits. I mean you can actually SEE the splits and their hair is all lightly colored on the ends from the iron being so hot and being so drying. A clothes iron can go to higher temperatures thana curling iron so it is NOT worth it. ~Kitty brite
