Track is starting up for me on monday, and I've never done it before. I'm sort of worried about how I will keep my hair out of the way during practices and meets. It is nearly bra-strap length (about two inches to go), thick and wavy with a tendency to puff out after freshly washed.

What have you had the most luck doing with your hair when you are playing a sport? Pony tail? Braids? Some sort of bun? I want to do something fast/easy with it that won't fall out- I've had some problems with ponytails eventually getting very loose and shorter pieces of hair flying all over the place.

Thank you for any help!

My fiancee has long hair and when he is at work(he has a construction co.) or playing sports he wears it in a ponytail. So did I when I wore my hair long.

Haven't you seen the women on the U.S. soccer team that won the ladies world cup? Some of them wear ponytails.

I played Keeper in soccer and had hair about the same length. I usually pulled back in a pony. Sometimes I wore two ponytails pulled back into one at the nape.
Usually before the game I would have someone braid it.

Hey!! Well, i play basketball and soccer, and my hair is kinda layered in the front, so some of it falls out, but i just put it behind my ears, and fix it when there's a time out

When I do sports I usually wear my hair in a braid starting at the bottom of my neck. I like braids more then ponytails because then you don't have hair flying in your face. French braids are good too.

how to do an AVRIL HENDES bun:

put hair into a neat ponytail.
seperate into 2 sections.
twist one section around the ponytail.
do the same with the other.

Hey,me I play Basketball,Tennis and plan on trying out for the track team this year at my new school as soon as I transfer out of my current school. But yeah, you should just where it in a ponytail slicked down with gel to keep the fly-a-ways from popping up but if you don't like gel just ask somebody to cornrow it for you or just cut it short, because I play a lot of different sports and really don't have the time or the patience to be dealing with it during games or before one.Thats why I'm cutting my hair into a short (1 inch above the nape of my neck) angled bob that I can just push behind my ears and clip it down during my games and practice.

Hey, just do all of them, theres no one thing to do cuz then ull have the same style everyday. If u have long hair, put it ina pony tail, and if u have poofy hair sindrum put some gel in it when its wet, just not sport gel cuz its gross!!!! If u have or want short hair, just leave it down or put it in pig tales. there a 1000 diffrent styles u can do, experiment and have fun!!!!

I play basketball and volleyball and during practice and games I normally wear my hair in a tight ponytail with a ribbon to decorate lol. If I have enough time though, I get someone to French braid pigtails for me... they stay put really well and I have long, super-thick hair too!
