you guys i don't know what to do! i've been finding more gray hairs on my head lately. i've made the mistake of yanking then out too. and i'm not gonna do that anymore. i'm only 17 and this is really embarrasing for me. i've been thinking about dying my hair again but last time it made my scalp show more and i'm afraid that'll happen again. i think this is genetic because i'm adopted and i'm not a stressful person, since i heard that can cause graying. should i go to a professional for this?? help me please!!

Sorry to hear the trouble you're going through...well my mother went through the same thing when she was your age! She began to have gray hairs at the age of about 12, but they didn't start to really be visible until about 17.

The diff between u and my mom is that she colors her hair and it seems to work fine....however coloring is not an option 4 u.......may I ask what brand and color of dye u used?

Anyways, since this is clearly causing u a lot of pain, you should DEFINITELY get professionaly help. It wouldn't hurt to try!! AND they may me able to tell you some things that you SHOULD NOT be doing as well as suggest treatments.

Hope this helped, and GOOD LUCK!!!

You don't say how much of your hair is affected. You might just be being very self conscious and the greys not that noticeable to anyone else. However, since your grey hairs are causing you embarrassment, I would support your choice to disguise them. A proper salon professional should be able to advise you on how would be best to do this. Look up your directory or ask a friend/relative for a recommendation if this is an option for you.

When you had the problem with the hair dye, did you colour your hair yourself? If so, this could be why you didn't achieve the result you wanted. You haven't mentioned an allergic reaction, so I would assume that colouring your hair is actually a possibility for you - you just had a bad experience. If you find a good hair colourist, s/he will be able to hide the greys and perhaps give you some advice on how to dye your hair at home in the future. The first time you attempt something big to do with hair, I would always advise enlisting the help of a professional.

I wish you all the best with conquering this problem.

the hair dye i used...i can't remember the name but it started with an L, i know that. Loving Care? i think that was it...anywayzz! i did do it at home, my mom dyed my hair. um..well on the top of my hair i have about 4 or 5 i can see when i look in the mirror. and below there i have a few hidden. i'd just like to fix this now before i get more. does anyone know a better brand of hair dye to use? or what kind of hair person i should talk to about it? if this makes a difference..my hair is kinda of damaged with split ends and i just cut 3 inches off, and i'm using a special conditioner to prevent dryness if that info is worth somethin! thanx again!
