I currenltly have short, slightly curley, thick hair. I'm trying to make my hair straight so that when i apply a gel/wax, my hair is spikey. Right now when I apply gel my hair curls up and flattens out, the complete opposite of what i'm trying to do. Any suggesstions on a good wax or shampoo that i should try to use? I've tried some heavy waxes, and they seem to not give me any volume or separation, but instead make my hair puffy and flat. Perhaps a light wax? The style i like best is right when i get out of the shower and i've towel dried my hair, it's just how i would like it, but give it a few minutes and it curls up and flattens.

hey dude. you should use tigi bed head hair stick for cool people. my husband has thick, wavy brown hair that he likes to spike up. When he gets out of the shower he towel dries his hair and then smears this stuff all over his hands. Just a dab will do ya. Once its all over his hands his starts from the back of his head and works forward - twisting and pulling until it's a spiky mess. Exactly what he was going for!! He has used a ton of wax, gel, muds and pomades and this works the best. The stuff is super expensive so we buy it by 3s http://www.ebay.com/ - over the internet. Good luck and let us know if it works out for ya.
