Erm, just need to clear something up. If you have coloured hair, you need to use gentle cleansers so you don't ruin the colour... but if you swim or use alot of products in your hair (and have coloured hair), you will need a stipping shampoo to remove build up, and thats gonna be harsh on your hair and ruin the colour...... so what would you do???

p.s. You might wanna hunt for a "clarifying shampoo" because a "stripping shampoo" will get you pet products.

Certain clarifying shampoos have been tested for color protection, such as Biogenol ("Eliminates mineral and styling product build-up with weekly use...Contains a natural anti-oxidant to prevent fading... Contains no other ingredients that may strip hair color.") Pricey.
or Pure & Basic Clarifying Shampoo ("Gently removes build-up for color-treated, permed and damaged hair.") Pretty cheap.

....You can also do some internet research and price-comparison before you go hunting in stores. I think it's just a matter of narrowing down to "clarifiers", then picking out the ones that protect color. Be sure to read the labels carefully to make sure it's both clarifying and color-protecting. Many of these shampoos are hard to find and/or expensive though.

Best of luck
