Hi, I need some help on my hair. Its very thick, curly, and puffy out. I hate it now. Theres a pic of it there not very good one but it'll do. I want it straighter. People say I can carry on growning it (currently down to the bottom of my nose if pulled flat) and eventually it'll be weighed down. Also i should try jojoba oil or summit. Does this work? any pics of before and after? also, they said i can try conditioning, shampooing, then conditioning again? i've straightened my hair a couple of times, and it looks really good, but i dont want to carry this on and would like to make it straighter without damaging my hair! ANY HELP, ANYONE! Thank you. . .

Hi Camel Louie (clever name you've got)

It was probably me who posted about CWC (condition-wash-condition, invented by Martine) and oiling with jojoba or coconut oil (coconut is cheaper and easier to find)... Have you tried any of these yourself though? They're hair safe ways of controlling unruly strands or weighing hair down. And they're easy, good conditioning treatments anyway.

I don't have a "before" pic, but I can describe it to you: a semi-Beatle pixie cut, of messy hair and oily scalp, major frizz city. The "after" is now my avatar. Frizz free and controlled, even though I never use any hair products like serums/gels/sprays. CWC helps wonderfully and I highly recommend it for anybody. I like your hair the way it is. But that's just my opinion. I like guys with curly dark hair. Is that Avril Lavigne on your wall?

Which reminds me, Camel Louie has hair like my editor--curly and soft looking.

Lots of conditioner is a good suggestion. John Frieda Glistening Creme is good; so is Shea Butter. Try following it with a leave-in no frizz treatment (like John Frieda Anti-Frizz Serum). Then, while your hair is still wet, put on a toque. I'm Canadian -- do you know what a toque is? A knit ski hat? Leave it on until your hair dries. I have a friend with very curly hair who does her hair this way. It doesn't look stick-straight, but it does look soft and slightly wavy.

P.S. You could also just keep it the way it is. Women love guys with curly hair.
