Since I began seriously growing my hair long (it's at 25 inches now), I've been following this routine for towel drying it: squeeze excess water out of my hair while still in shower, use a towel to squeeze it again, then wrap the towel on my head like Carmen Miranda for about 10 minutes. I've found that this method really soaks up a lot of the water, which makes it air dry or blow dry that much faster. However, it gets really tangled in the towel wrap and is a royal pain to comb out, even with a texturizing cream or leave-in conditioner. This morning, I decided to skip the towel wrap and just try to squeeze the excess water out as best I could. It dripped a lot and took longer to dry, but was much easier to comb through. I'm curious about how others with long hair towel dry their hair and if there's some trick to keeping it from getting tangled. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
