I`m growing out and can now get hair in an ok twist and last all day with barrette. What are best type of barrette to wear for work, do you guys think some are more formal than others? Also would a claw be better or maybe a barrette ponytail? Never thought about this sort of stuff when started growing!!! Luv Jacqui

a good type of ponytail to wear to work would be high and tight. I usually wear a ponytail at my crown and have the hair slicked and tight enough to wear you can see the shape of my skull :)

Ponytailhead has a good suggestion. My wife has hair below her butt and wears a similar style to work. We pull it into a ponytail on the back of her head, separate the hair into two sections and braid each section. Then I wrap the two sections into a bun and pin them. It stays neat all day. Simple but elegant.
