I am a straight 26 year old guy and I am trying to grow my hair longer. Not as long as Jeff or Victor but to my shoulders. I want some style (layers or longer graduated sides). I tried to explain this to the stylist and she just looked at me kind of weird. So she did the best she could but I hate the look.I noticed a thread about 1 week ago where there was a lot of requests for male photos in the Gallery. I just want to say that it would have really helped me today if I could have printed out a male hair cut to show the stylist. So Karen & Jeff (ir you are listening) my vote is to add men to the Gallery...or at least add them somewhere that us guys (and I think there are a lot of us) can use them to get our hair cut and styled the way we want. This is a hard thing for a guy to deal with. My girlfriend suggested taking a photo from Glamour magazine but I felt pretty stupid. So instead I have to figure out some better way. Thanks for letting me rant and rave. I feel better already.Timothy

Timothy,I have been in a similar position - last time I resorted to pointing to a female stylist in the salon and said I want my hair like hers (since I am in a foreign country and can't easily explain what I want - so pictures or pointing is much easier)!I think there is however a general lack of men's pics available in a wide variety of styles (like there are with women). Even when I see pics of long haired guys, their hair has already grown out.I wonder if some of the guys here (inc me) who are trying to grow their hair out would be prepared to offer pics of the different cuts we have through the growing process, so more of these pics become available for others in the future. Just a thought!Paul

Hi Paul & Timothy,What a great idea Paul, to have the men who visit offer their photos for hair styling ideas. I would love that. Any male interested, please email and we will work out some deal. :-)We also would welcome any photos from our female visitors too. I always ask our visiting writers to send photos and Lori and Valentine and Cher and Tamara and Niki have all sent photos to display. However, I would love other photos from anyone intereted in sending them. Just email me and we can work it out.We have three great scanners and would be glad to scan photos and send them back too. Just let us know.In the mean time, we have purchased a lot of photos of men with all different lengths of hair. We will update as often as we can and eventually I hope to have every length possible. However, if someone is growing their hair from shorter to longer and would volunteer to let us do a pictorial...we would be completely honored. We do have photos of Michael and Jeff from our recent trip to Sante Fe. Michael has should length layered hair. So it is in between short and long. We will be adding Jeff and Michael to the Gallery as soon as we get caught up.Hope you like all the new styles in the Men's Gallery. Please, any suggestions, I would welcome them with open arms.Karen> Timothy,> I have been in a similar position - last> time I resorted to pointing to a female stylist> in the salon and said I want my hair like hers> (since I am in a foreign country and can't easily> explain what I want - so pictures or pointing> is much easier)!> I think there is however a general lack of> men's pics available in a wide variety of styles> (like there are with women).
