The reason I am asking this question is because I don't have a regular stylist at the moment. Also, I want to grow my hair! So, in searching around looking for a stylist, and in the absence of recommendations etc, I have started paying particular attention to different stylists - the condition of their hair and length. I was left wondering whether a longer haired stylist would be much more sympathetic and in-tune with helping me achieve my goals than a shorter haired stylist. Now I know this might sound a very bad generalisation to make and of course there are many shorter haired stylists who are excellent hairdressers.. but I wonder if a longer haired one would be supportive and have the knowledge and experience and committment in helping me grow my hair. Also I wonder if I choose a shorter hair stylist.. they probably prefer shorter hair anyway - and may be more likely to talk me into getting a shorter cut in the future despite my current aims. So, at the moment it seems to me that if I choose a longer haired stylist (and I have one in mind who has beautifully conditioned hair) she will in essence know how to treat mine and cut mine right. Of course someone is cutting her hair and probably I should be going to them :-).But what do others think... do you pay attention to your stylists hair condition and length or is that not important to you?Paul
