It did to my hair just what the name says.. smoothe.. My hair is soft and very manageable. No tangles. Maybe the ones who have tried Aveda and are not satisfied would find this product satisfactory.. and you can get both the shampoo and conditioner for under 20 bucks. It does not have a perfumey smell like Aveda or Nature's Gate. I believe Nature's Gate leaves your hair even more scented than Curessence, this product does the nice job of making your hair soft but not with a heavy perfume smell.
