I have shoulder length curly severely color damaged hair. I do not have a problem with lots of split ends (yet), but I do have a problem with overall dryness and brittleness. I find that Jheri Redding Extra shampoos and conditioners that can be found in beauty supply stores work well on my hair. But the only thing that will make my hair feel like its healthy pre-color state is a silicone serum. I have heard that this is drying in the long run. Is there a leave-in product that lives up to its claims and will make my hair soft and shiny and the curls stay together like it was before I started coloring? I am willing to stop this damaging coloring and get regular trims. I want to grow my hair longer, but it looks too dry sometimes. Is silicone damaging? I hope not, because it makes my hair feel like new. P.S. I have already tried Ouidad and find that it does not work for me. It makes my hair feel dry.
