Hi,Something I read in a post somewhere but can't remember which one, has been bugging me. I think I read it correctly. It was about hair coming out, and said if your hair had the white root on the end when it falls out, you maybe missing something from your diet.Is this true? I have hair on my clothes. When I comb it in the shower I have pieces that come out with the white root.I don't have split ends, I use salon products, go to the gym three times a week, and eat quite healthy. This was bugging me so I have asked friends when they shed do they have the white bump on the end. They do,same with my husband's hair. Can someone please explain this to me. I thought everyone lost hair daily. Wouldn't it be worse if it was breaking off in the middle of a strand of hair?Sherry

Go to your doctor right away and have her do a blood test, including a TSH to check your thyroid. Hair loss is one of the big symptoms of a thyroid problem. It is no big deal to correct, but you have to have the blood test to find out. My hair fell out like that for a year before I finally got checked and sure enough, I was hypo-thyroid. You also might be a little anemic or have something else going on, so it really is worth the trip. She will probably tell you this, that if your test is in the normal range but your hair loss continues, go back in a few months and have another blood test. Sometimes when your thyroid is failing it will fluctuate between the normal range, then abnormal range for a while. I had three tests before it was conclusive.> Hi,> Something I read in a post somewhere but> can't remember which one, has been bugging me.> I think I read it correctly. I have the same problem with my hair. It falls out a lot! But it has been happening to me for years. I was wondering, Did your hair stop falling out since your thyroid has been corrected? Do you still lose a little every day? I am wondering if I have the same problem' I also tend to be anemic.> Go to your doctor right away and have her> do a blood test, including a TSH to check your> thyroid. Hi,So hair should not come out daily then? All people don't shed hair? I better go get that thyroid checked. Thanks for the info. I guess that's why when I told my hairdresser that I shed daily she told me, that's not good. I had no idea.Take care, Sherry> I have the same problem with my hair. It> falls out a lot! Hi Sherry, everyone loses some hair everyday. Most experts say around a hundred hairs, because all of the hair on your head is constantly at some point in its life cycle. Some hairs are at the end of theirs, then they fall out as new hair grows in. For the most part your daily hair loss should not be obvious to you. If you are noticing your hair loss and it SEEMS like an awful lot, you may be losing more than normal. Maybe not, but I have found that if I have a feeling that something is not right about myself, I'm usually correct. Trust your instincts. If everything is fine, then at least you won't be fretting about it. And thats worth the price of admission as well.> Hi,> So hair should not come out daily then? All> people don't shed hair? Hi Ilsa, I still lose hair just like everyone else. Being on thyroid medication doesn't completely stop you from losing all hair. It just stops you from losing hair that you would not normally lose. Some people on thyroid medication still find that they lose a little more hair from time to time, but for the most part the medication should correct excessive loss. I am by no means a medical expert, so its a good idea to ask your doctor these and your other hair loss questions so that you can get good advice for your individual situation.> I have the same problem with my hair. Hi Gigi,I thought rushing to get a thyroid test was a little drastic. I was just confused with a post a while ago and it was bothering me. I don't have patches missing or anything like that, but I do notice after combing in the shower I have a few maybe 10 or so. What bugged me the most is if they have the white root on the end you are missing something from your diet. So I was just curious but I am not worried because it's normal hair shed for me. As stated it is normal to lose hair everyday. Most people will lose between 75-100 hairs. Most people also go through 1 or 2 shedding sessions a year. These shedding sessions last for different times for different people. If you body does not replace the hair that it is losing that is the time to start looking for something to help your hair growth return to normal. You might try a product like Nisim it is guaranteed to control excessive hairloss in one week. visit www.nisim.com

>Have you ever tried the Nisim products? If so, what experience have you had with them? Do they really reduce excessive hair loss and can thinning hair grow in thicker?
