My house is surrounded with Awapuhi and Aloe, I live in Hawaii and its so humid here, I noticed that a lot of shampoo's say that these two are very good. I can pick it fresh from my backyard, but how can I convert it to wash my hair with or use it as some sort of rinse??

Dee,How about just substituting the aloe or awapuhi for one of the major ingredients in some of Karens home made hair care recipes? Strip out the inner goop from the aloe leaves (make sure its aloe vera that is growing near your house, there are dozens of varieties of the genus aloe)and somehow pulverize the awapuhi (is that a succulent like aloe?) then just use it in the recipe. Check the tips and articles section for more info on recipes. Because they're used for conditioning purposes it would seem you could just make a goop of the gel from the leaves and apply that to your ends as well. Let us know if it works!Best wishes to all!Dawn
