This message is for Karen, Noreen, Dawn, and all the wonderful long-haired ladies on this site! You are all such an inspiration to those of us working to have hair as long and lovely as yours. I was wondering if any of you have reached your maximum growth cycle yet, or if your growth has slowed since it has gotten so long. My hair is nearly to my waist and still growing about a 1/2 inch per month. I know we all have our maximum growth cycle which prevents some of us from having knee-length hair while others can achieve it. Just wondering about your personal experiences.Sincerely,Jen

Wow, I am so honored to even be mentioned along with those two, really it is a testament to the power of long hair that it can even make very fine, super straight hair like mine look good! Believe me if my hair was short, it would not be getting compliments, people would be advising me to go find some mousse and fluff that limp stuff up a bit! You know, Jen, Karen is blessed with some great hair genes and says hers grows steadily, but despite her unbelievable thickness, Noreen says hers grows slowly and I have to second that with mine, it grows REALLY slowly. I got a bunch of length for the four years or so I was cranking out babies on a regular basis, but yes, it seems to have slowed more as its gotten longer. I don't know if thats fact or perception though because its often hard to really judge your own hair growth, no matter how long it is you always think its growing slowly while others seem to notice big changes.Thank you for the kind words, its the very reason I think all of us like to share our hair stories because it feels really good to give someone else that little boost to go ahead and keep on track toward their goals too!Best wishes to everyone!Dawn

>Thanks for the nice post, Dawn! I placed an order for your hair jewelry today, which is absolutely beautiful. Hopefully, it will keep my long hair in place so I don't get so many tangles :-)My hair was also rather unremarkable when it was short. Now that it's long, I find I get lots of attention and compliments from women and men, which doesn't make my husband too happy!Looking forward to receiving my hair jewelry and to reading more of your posts. Take care!

Hi Jen,Like Dawn, I feel honored to be placed in such company. Karen and Dawn both have such awesome hair. You can tell just by looking at their pictures how soft and silky it must feel. Just makes you wish you could feel it as well as look at it.As for my hair growth cycle, I haven't reached the end yet, though it does seem to be slowing down some. I want to trim the ends a bit, but I hate the thought of losing even 1/4 inch of the growth I've gained. I try not to think about how slowly it grows. It would just get me depressed. So I just try to be thankful for what I have, and try to keep it as healthy as I can.I'm so happy that I can be of any inspiration for anyone in anyway. I remember well, how happy I was to get my hair to waist length. The thought of it ever reaching my knees seemed an impossibility. Good thing I have patience....:-) How long have you been growing your hair?Keep it growing!Take Care,Noreen> This message is for Karen, Noreen, Dawn, and all the> wonderful long-haired ladies on this site! Hi Jen,I'm sorry to go off topic here...To me, it seems a shame that your husband's attitude toward the attention youget isn't pride that he is married to such a wonderful and beautiful lady.I don't wish to stir up trouble, and I'm sorry if I am out of line speakingmy mind on this point.Take care,DaveP.S. FWIW, IMHO, I agree with Dawn that fine hair, especially, looks much bettervery long than short.

Thank you to all of you who have given me hope to. I have shoulder length hair that is very fine and very very thick, I colored it today and it took 6oz (2bottles) of color to cover it. Unfortunately it grows very very slowely and drives me crazy... I almost had the girls at school cut it today but then I thought of y'all. It gave me the courage to lay off the scissors.Bye the way Jen, according to my cosmetology book the hair follicle sheds hair and grows a new hair in its place somewhere around every 3-4years(I think thats the right amount of time, it's somewhere close to that number.) The average persons hair will grow apr. 1/2 inch in a month (6 inches a year) How long your hair gets depends on how fast it grows. Mine only grows about 1/4 to 1/3 inches every month so my hair may not even get to my waist unless I get pregnant which I've heard makes your hair grow faster. However, I don't think my husband would find that to be an exceptable reason for haveing children right now!
