HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLPP!My hair is 4 feet long (about 122cm) and I am only 5 feet tall. It goes down to and a little past my knees. I've never had a major haircut, only trims. For almost 5 or 6 years now, I have been wearing my hair in the same hair style, 1 braid or 2 pig-tail braids. My hair is black (I am not African-American, my parents are from India, but I was born in Illinois-my hair is like an American's, but it is just black, and mine is not like an Oriental person's hair either) between thin and normal hair, and naturally curly, but I have been wearing it in a braid soooo long, my hair is becoming wavier everyday and losing it's curliness:I DON'T LIKE THAT AT ALL AND I WOULD LIKE TO TRY TO GET MY CURLS BACK!!! My hair is also very dry and frizzy at the bottom, starting from the middle of my back to my knees. I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO INTENTION OF CUTTING MY HAIR!!!I would like a hairstyle that I can put up, like in a claw....which I have tried: it works pretty well, but it is big and a little lump is sticking up at the top. I would also like to know of some products that would bring my NATURAL curls back and any other products that might help someone with my hair type!!!OHHHHHHH PLEASE, OHHHHHH PLEASE, WILL SOMEONE, ANYONE HELP ME WITH MY MAJOR HAIR CRISIS!!!! ALL TYPES OF INPUT ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!PLEASE FEEL FREE TO E-MAIL ME ANY MORE INFORMATION ON THIS TOPIC!!!!!THANK~YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!! A HAIR SPECIALIST MIGHT BE HELPFUL ON THIS TOPIC, BECAUSE EVERYBODY MIGHT NOT UNDERSTAND HOW MY HAIR TYPE IS!!!!!THANK~YOU!!!!!SINCERELY,LCOLADA

Well, ok, 40 people looked at this post but no responses so I'll give it a shot. You need some deep conditioning obviously, perhaps a bit of a trim wouldn't hurt, just a small one and some experimenting with various styles. Do you condition every time you wash your hair? One shampoo should be ridding your hair of the affects of a braid job, it does for mine, so maybe quit braiding so tightly or try a row of ties down the hair for awhile instead of a braid, that's how I give my hair a rest. Have you used hairsticks? Just twist your hair up and slip them through the loop that's made, its fast, easy and holds great. Try Tamara's really cool figure eight braid, its wonderful for long hair and looks so sophisticated. Try some of her neat side braids, or perhaps a front twist and a fancy barrette at the nape of the neck. How about some two strand or four or five strand braids instead of the basic three. My tried and true, always works method for hair doldrums is new accessories. Make a scrunchie to match your favorite sweater, or whatever. Use your imagination! The possibilities are endless with hair as long as yours. Treat it like fine fabric, baby it, try new hair products till you find the one that's just right for you. Start by reading all of Karen's tips and articles, there's a world of information there.Good luck!Best wishes to all!Dawn

Lcolada,Dawn makes the most awesome hair jewelry available on this site's Marketplace. My hair is very wavy (nearly waist length) and becomes tangled and matted many times when I air dry it. That's why I've been winding it into a bun with a good conditioner (Like Aveda's Curessence or Beautifying oil) and using Dawn's beautiful zuni bear hair sticks to hold it in place during the day. When I take it down at night, it's smoothe and silky.Glad you're committed to not cutting your hair. I've been tempted, but know that I'd only want to grow it back!Best of luck!Jen
