> How long is your hair and what color is it?Dark and your typical longish, guy cut.I figure this is the beginning of a scolding on how I can't comprehend the depths of the emotional attachment you have to your hair because I don't have and have never had long hair. Also, that based on my previous response to your post that I don't understand "true love", as you put it. I'll try to head this off before it gets out of hand ("Too late!" comes the cry from the audience)...1) Just because someone doesn't have long hair doesn't mean that that their hair means nothing to them. On the contrary, for most folks, their hairstyle is part of their self-image and how the perceive themselves. Any sort of change to that style is going to have at least some effect on that view of themselves. Heck, that's why the military continues to give crewcuts to new recruits, in order to begin the process of stripping them of their previous life and remolding them (since the hygenic reasons disappeared long ago). I know it would be a traumatic experience for me if I had to get my head shaved for some reason. But (and it's an important but), that doesn't apply to everyone. Some people, and usually it is women more than men, enjoy changing their hair style regularly, no matter how dramatic the change (see Madonna). Others just decide they want a new style. In the previous message that began this discussion, Mary wanted a new style, but just didn't know how her husband would react. In other words, it had nothing to do with whether or not Mary wanted to cut her hait and everything to do with convincing her husband that it would look good.2) The "true love" issue. I'm married and have been for 7 years. My wife has had hair as short as mine to mid-way down her back to bob and back again. I love her for her and not her hair. Would I have initially been attracted to her when I first saw her if she had a crewcut? Probably not, but I didn't know her as a person then. But, if for some reason she got one now, it would not lead to divorce. I love her, not just her hair.Plus, like love, hair grows. How's that for sappy? :)As usual,JerkyFlea <- A pretty good made up name if I say so myself
