I drove to Cleveland over the weekend (3 hrs!) for my seasonal trim and George Michael 12 minute conditioning at Enchantress, my favorite salon that caters to long hair. During the trim, my stylist Jody noticed a "weak spot" in the middle of my hair at the bottom. She thinks it was caused by breakage from possibly tugging too hard on wet hair when I try to comb out my tangles.Jody said she recently got back from an ARTec convention and received a tip she thought might help. Mix equal parts Smoothing Serum with Texture Gel on wet hair before combing. She says the ARTec people claim the mixture increases elasticity in wet hair, helping to guard against breakage. I bought a whole bunch of ARTec stuff and am renewed in my goal to get my hair to my waist! I'm currently at 26 inches... Jody had to trim a little more off to get my sides even with the weak area. C'est la vie!Hope this tip helps others trying to grow their hair. Let me know!

Hi,This is an awesome tip. I have been using the Smoothing Serum on my wet hair and then finger picking and letting my hair air dry and I love the stuff. Sometimes when I let my hair air dry is sort of "sticks" to my head in a plastered way so I try to pick it well.I have the TextureGel sitting right here next to my PC waiting for me to try and get to the review I am writing. So I am trying this tip.I am very impressed that you drive 3 hours for your visit. That shows tremendous dedication. I know it is worth it. Luckily I don't have to do that...but some day I plan on visiting some of the well known long hair salons in other cities and like Tamara who came to Dallas from Canada...I will be wiling to do it for my hair. :-)Thanks for the ARTec tips.By the way...Jeff switches back and forth between Smoothing and Aveda and I can tell you that his hair...in my opinion...looks better on ARTec.Have a great evening.Best wishes,Karen> I drove to Cleveland over the weekend (3 hrs!) for my> seasonal trim and George Michael 12 minute> conditioning at Enchantress, my favorite salon that> caters to long hair.
