Hello!I'm having a problem with finding the right styling products for my fine, straight hair. Right now, I'm using ARTec's Smoothing Serum(it acutally gives me decent body and shine, doesn't make my hair limp), and it's ok, but nothing special. I've also used their Volume Gel(didn't do much) and their Texture Mousse. I've never had any luck with volumizing sprays either. What am I overlooking? Products usually make my hair too stiff and brittle, but I'd like some volume. Can anyone help? Thanks!LK

Hi,Here are some tips to give you more volume....1. Wash your hair with one of the Aveda color shampoos like Blue Malva for white/blonde or Black Malva for brunette or Madder Root/Bixa for reds. Yes...ARTec has some great color shampoos but I think you should try the Aveda first. They will "fatten" up your hair more, in my opinion than the ARTec.2. Use Aveda Cherry Almond Bark conditioner. It is designed to "fatten" and enhance waves and curls. It makes my hair very full.3. Do a cold water rinse. I mean cold. Brrrr. This encourages volume.4. Towel blot your hair and detangle with Aveda Curessence styling and then apply a dime/quarter size of Aveda Confixer to your hair at the roots only.Blow dry your hair on the lowest/coldest setting of your hair dryer and do it upside down aiming the air flow to the roots. Finger pick or fluff as you dry to give the hair maximum volume.5. Make sure your hair is completely dry before you stop. You can also use a diffuser on slow/cool and this will also plump up your hair.If you really want big hair...after your hair is dry roll it on the biggest hot rollers you can find. Let them cool and then finger pick the hair into place to keep the volume. That should give you soft but big hair. Try it and let me know what you think.Best wishes.KarenPS. ARTec is one of my favorite lines. However, what works well on some people doesn't on others. I have friends who swear by some products that do nothing for me.
