Hello,I have a question to all of you who have used many brands of shampoos and conditioners. Not being someone who really reads labels, I used to just buy hair products by their so called "properties", i.e. to make hair shiny, with more volume, etc. However, according to different sources I have come to find out that most shampoos and conditioners are loaded with harsh chemicals. Namely Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate and DEA Lauryl Sulfate which are almost always present in most products I have seen. From what I read Lauryl Sulfates causes, among many things, dry and itchy flaky skin. I have suffered from dry itchy and flaky scalp for as long as I remember so I have been looking for a solution to my problem. Anyway, I went to a Natural Foods Store and found a shampoo by Jason Naturals(??) that does not contain sulfates...and to my surprise it worked! At least for my hair and scalp, I must say that since I switched to a no-sulfate product my scalp does not flake or itch anymore. Another awful ingridient is Propylen Glycol which is found in all kinds of things from Antifreeze, to cosmetics to bluberry muffins (BLEAH!) but that is another story...Do any of you out there have ever heard of such thing? Are there any other products out there that you use that are harsh-chemical free?By the way I found a lot of this info about chemicals to avoid here: http://www.mastey.com/menu.htmAlso - http://www.mastey.com/menu.htmAlso Aubrey Organics (which I have never used)has some information: http://www.aubrey-organics.com/avoid.htm - http://www.aubrey-organics.com/avoid.htm
