I have been using a split-end serum on my ends for several months now to tame the frizz and prevent splits. But I have found the ends are rather brittle and drier than ever. Well most hairdressers advocate the use of serums to "control that frizz and promote the shine".I suppose in the short run hair would appear glossier, but in the long run, hair seems 'dependent' on the serums and appears drier without them. I have a feeling this had something to do with the silicone ingredients like Dimethesil (if i got the spelling right). If this is true, then the 14-day shine from Pantene is just a hoax. i have read many stories about women with drier hair in the long term after using this shampoo and others.Would it be better to avoid serums completely?
