I am 15 and I had highlights on my hair about 3 months ago..and i totally regret having them! it made my hair looked streaked and dry! i'm getting an over-all color put on my hair to cover it up! Don't get them unless the color looks like your natural color.

Hey Lindsey-- foiling is the way to go if you want highlights. However, this is not something that you can do at home, and it may cost you a pretty penny at a good salon. Also, make sure you make clear to your stylist that you want the highlights to blend well with your basecolor. There's nothing worse than a headful of very obvious streaks! After years of dyeing my light brown hair auburn, I decided to switch to something that would work with my natural (light golden brown) haircolor-- highlights were my answer, but it didn't come easy. The first guy I went to was a noted "master colorist" but all I got was a headfull of white streaks. The first time my current stylist highlighted me, we went too blonde too quick. But now, I have the highlights I always dreamed of (they remind me of Felicity's on my curly hair) after a bit of playing around. Good luck and let me know how it goes!
