I have tried to make my hair look better for years. My hair is wavy and really baby fine. Every time I look that combination up in magazines it says to cut it short. I dont like short hair. I have always wanted long beautiful, healthy, shiny hair but could never achieve it. Right now my hair is midway to my back and has layers and blonde highlights. I just did these things recently and they did not help. My hair is always stringy, frizzy, and limp. I take pretty good care of it but it still looks bad. Do you have any suggestions.

The layers you have, will cause the frizzies to show up more in a layered/longer style. Some of the cause may be in the method that was used to layer your hair. Fine hair should only be layered very slightly and only with very sharp shears in a 'point cutting' method and never with a razor or the open blade of the scissors. This 'slithering' or slicing method will help to cause less tendancy for split ends to begin. Since you already have layers, find a good stylist who can cut ONLY your layers into "blunt cut layers". Use a medium to light hold spray styling gel, applied to damp hair and finger comb into shape, DO NOT blow dry this type hair completely dry as it just promotes frizzies. Happy New Year William
