I love the new short hair styles and was wondering if anybody can help me. I have thick, wavy hair and was wondering if I should get my hair cut in a style similar to Michelle Williams or Alyssa Milano. Any suggestions?

Hi Karen!I'm so glad that you put this post up. I have thick loose curls (think Julia Roberts) and last July I cut my long hair into that cute "Darhma" cut. First let me say, that I am the ultimate hair freak and I usually don't mind spending a good amount of time on my hair--it's my obsession. However, after I cut my hair, my opinion changed (a bit anyway). Let me just say that "yes" these new short cuts are adorable and look very easy to take care of-- however they are not! It took me on average 45 to 50 minutes every morning to get my cut into gear. These cute do's don't just fall into place, it takes a lot of work with the curling iron or blowdryer and lots of styling pomade to get that "piecy" look that is so important. Also, on those rainy days--you just can't pull your hair back-- you STILL have to do it! It seemed like I was always fixing my hair. And the more natural volume you have in your hair, the more difficult it is to control. I have been growing my hair since I cut it, and it's now past my chin (I have NEVER had such aweful growing pains--wavy/curly hair grows poofy with a pyramid effect)-- Please Karen, give it a lot of thought before you cut,... the growout is really very tedious!Sherry
